New Year's Eve 2008

For New Year's my sweet neighbor watched Jade because her husband works graveyard and she was going to be home alone. She played with Jade and her 2 year old son for an hour and then Jade went to bed there until 1am when we picked her up. First we met Lynsey and Tj at PF Chang's for dinner. It was fun and great food. Then they had to go home because their babysitter had to leave. Then Ian and I went to check out "The First Night" at Provo Town Center, the mall. It was an indoor party, with face painting, carnaval games and food, dances, kareoke, and live bands. We walked around the whole mall looking at everything. It was lame and we didn't stay. It would have been really fun if we had elementary age children. So then we drove around for an hour and a half looking for a dance. All I really wanted to do was to dance. The only thing we could find was the UVU dance which gets pretty dirty so we didn't want to go to that. So we went to a little party with some of our new friends and stayed for about an hour before we had to go get Jade.

Jade's best friend, Pooh Bear

I was doing a load of laundry and washing pooh bear. Jade found the washer door open a crack and got inside. I found her hugging her wet Pooh Bear while it was still in the washer. So cute!

Sunday night Jade and I went over to Ian's parents house so they could spend some time with their grand daughter. They didn't get much time with her on Christmas cause she was sick. This is Joanie, Ian's mom, reading with Jade. Ian had already gone back to Utah to go back to work.

wrapping paper dresses

So I went upstairs and found my 2 nieces, both 3 years old, making a mess in grandma's room. They found the wrapping paper and unrolled it all and wrinkled it so bad that it couldn't be used. So Lynsey and I made dresses and bows out of the wrapping paper for them and went and showed everyone. It was so cute.

Our Christmas trip

So this year was our turn to spend Christmas with my family. All my sisters and their families were actually able to travel home to Albuquerque except for me. My brother already lives there. So my parents flew Ian, Jade, and I home. Such a huge blessing. We flew home on Christmas Eve and arrived at 2 in the afternoon. We had our tradition of eating pizza by candle light on Christmas Eve. We also did the traditions of my mom reading a Christmas story to all 25 of us and each person got to open one gift. I love traditions, it makes me feel like home and that I belong. Christmas Day we woke up and all the kids saw what Santa had brought them. Ian, Jade, and I exchanged our stockings. We opened our gifts to each other back in Utah cause we didn't have room to pack them. Then we showered and went to Ian's grandma's house where his parents were. We only got to stay for about a half an hour because Jade was sick and started to kind of freak out. We needed to take her home and put her to bed. Then we had Christmas dinner with my family. Later that night we did our other tradition of going to the church gym and playing basketball with everyone. I loved it! It was a great day being with all my family. The best part of Christmas was after the whole gift giving in the morning, our little family went and played on the stairs. We chased Jade up the stairs and she was laughing so hard. I was with the two most important people in my life and I kissed my sweet husband. It was such a special moment and that was what Christmas really means.

Jade's fire truck

Jade got a fire truck for her birthday and she loves it.

So I took Jade to the mall to take a picture with Santa Clause. I dressed her up in her Christmas dress. I tried to take some pictures but I just couldn't quite get one with her looking.

Crazy eyes!

Merry Christmas from crazy eyes! I wanted to put this picture in our Christmas card.

I gave my best friend from college, Lisa, a baby shower in December. I had a lot of fun doing it. She lives in Salt Lake and so does her friends. I packed up the shower and set it up in her house in Salt lake in the snow.
